College?

College. Everyone puts such an emphasis on this form of higher education once students are done with high school. Ever since elementary school, propaganda has been shoved down our throats that college is the only way to succeed in life. If you don't go to college, you're a loser.
Well I disagree. I believe that people should do what they are passionate about, and if that just so happens to include college, so be it. Now I'm not saying college is a bad thing; in fact, it's a wonderful thing. It gives people the opportunity to go in-depth on subjects they care about.... for tens of thousands of dollars. There are other routes people can take, they can go to technical school, or become an apprentice, or simply just start working their way up a career ladder. Either way, college isn't the only answer and it is my opinion that schools should discontinue the coercion of students.
